What is the fishing like at Foxearth?
Foxearth is not easy and it never has been. But there are a few things you / we can do to help catch. Because it is a small lake bivvy up back from the water. Similarly, keep your rods back. Fish slack lines where you can.You are only fishing for a bite at a time so please don’t start whacking loads of bait in, as it won’t work. I would suggest fishing one rod out to an island (or similar) and one down your own margin or in the middle. Washed out baits are the way forward here too. Simply put quarter or half a kilo of boilies in lake/rain water 24 hours before coming. There are plenty of fish in there, we just need to make them feel safe.
Is the lake secure?
There should no one else on the locked Specimen Lake other than us, as it is a private booking (maybe the owner Mark or an EA Bailiff). The lock code to the gate is regularly changed so no one should be able to get in. The outer gate to the car park is also closed at night and there is CCTV. Having said all that, the venue is in a really rural location and there are rarely any problems in the area.
What about Covid?
If you are ill then please stay at home. I can easily rearrange another weekend for you. Please adhere to social distancing rules. No hand shaking and try to stay apart. There are onsite facilities, such as a toilet, so please wash your hands where you can. There is no food package, so please just look after yourself with food and drink. Make your own tea and coffee too. In the heat of the moment, I anticipate people maybe picking up other peoples nets, etc. Just try to be sensible and avoid as much contact as possible. In the event of stricter Government Rules, I will simply rearrange the weekend.
